Ronald Eugene Van Tassel (Stephen John)

The Van Tassel family with General Rick J. Hillier C.M.M., M.S.C., C.D.
The Chief of the Defence Staff. It's nice when Canada's to soldier visits one of his boys.

This picture we can assume was taken when this young lad served with the West Nova Scotia Regt out of Cornwallis NS. He then went into the regular forces and served with thew RCR's The Royal Canadian Regiment. Many Van Tassels before him served in the same Regiment. He does us all proud. His Father and grandfather are pictured below.

Brian has gone where no one dared to go. This is the famous apple tree where many of pictures of the Van Tassel family have been taken. Brian says that he could get away with whatever with his Grandma and he must have in order to get up in that tree and grandpa must have been at work or at the Fire Dept.

Norm - this will help me out, as I am just starting to research my great grandmother Bertha Ellen Vantassel's ancestors: with this info and from what I find on novascotiagenealogy.com, I think I am making progress!
